Smith’s Environmental Products launch new Apprenticeship Scheme with the employment of two new Apprentices

Smith’s Environmental Products has launched a new Apprenticeship Scheme with the employment of two new Apprentices. As part of its vision to develop and train its team for the future Smith’s has employed Myles Carter 16, and Oren Young, 18. Both Myles and Oren are continuing their education in conjunction with PROCAT – Prospects College of Advance Technology – in Basildon.

Myles is an Apprentice Production Operative and will be spending his time gaining an understanding of all areas of factory and materials used and products built in the various areas. He is working towards a Level 3 Engineering Manufacture Framework.

Oren is an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer and will be spending his time learning all about the factory and R&D department with a focus on understanding the equipment and machinery used within the key areas. He is working towards a Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering.

Gary Haynes, Managing Director of Smith’s says “We are very excited to bring two young people into our business onto our Apprentice Scheme and will ensure that we work with them to develop their knowledge and skills in their respective disciplines. It is very important to Smith’s that we train and develop the future talent in our business. I am looking forward to tracking their development and progress in achieving formal qualifications and experience.”
