The Client
Liverpool City Council have redeveloped a late Victorian, early Edwardian former school building into a conference centre in the heart of Toxteth. Toxteth Annexe retains its strong community links, offering excellent facilities for professionally managed events.
The Challenge
The building required heating that would be effective during opening hours while not incurring additional costs when the premises are closed for business.
The Solution
Liverpool City Council installed 23 Caspian Universal fan convectors throughout the building and were able to site the fan convectors in positions that worked best for each location. They selected the Smith’s Caspians because they were hydronic and compatible with the selected commercial boilers and because they provide almost instantaneous heat and do not require to be programmed to come on an hour before required, which provided long-term budgeting advantages for the heating bills of the Annexe.
The Products
Smith’s Caspians have a low surface temperature (LST) which lends itself to public-facing venues where a wide range of ages regularly come through the doors. Caspian fan convectors are compatible with all types of wet central heating systems and are regularly employed in a wide range of light commercial premises. Caspians come with a free five-year warranty for parts and labour.
