The Client
e-Factor is a not for profit business support organisation that aims to inspire and encourage enterprise across North East Lincolnshire. Funded through the Local Enterprise Government Initiative (LEGI), part of which was the provision of incubation facilities for new businesses, e-Factor developed a portfolio of premises across the region. The flagship development was the Enterprise Village, Prince Albert Gardens, Grimsby.
The Challenge
The new facility was for start-up businesses. It comprised 25 industrial units and an office block with managed reception, training and conference rooms and nine incubation offices. The building contractor was tasked to develop the buildings to a high standard and to be operationally efficient – incorporating energy efficiency and environmentally friendly systems.
The Solution
Local installers, Haith’s Heating, suggested using fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products, as the high efficiency heaters would be would be ideal for the managed office space offices; consequently 26 Smith’s Caspian fan convectors were installed. They are ideal for meeting the heating demands of larger rooms.
The Products
The Caspian Low and Caspian High fan convectors are floor or wall-mounted, low surface temperature heat emitters, specially developed for domestic or commercial applications and have been used in ten of the offices, a large training room, a conference/board room and two smaller meeting rooms.
Designed for both domestic and small commercial premises, fan convectors utilise simple and proven technology to put heat where required, when required, ensuring good air temperature distribution. Smith’s fan convectors are compatible with all types of wet central heating systems, whether connected to a conventional boiler or renewable technology, such as ground and air source heat pumps, they function equally efficiently. All Smith’s products also come with a free five-year parts and labour warranty for additional customer comfort.
