Ken Hale, Smith’s current Managing Director, will retire from the business in April of this year. Ken had rejoined Smith’s in 2018 to help with Smith’s succession plan and to affect a smooth transition to the new management team noted below. We thank Ken for his steady guiding hand and all he has done for us and we wish him well in retirement.
Accordingly, The Swan Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Rolston and Jim Bennett as the new senior management partnership to lead Smith’s into the future.
Effective from 1st April, Darren Rolston will add to his present financial management and Company Secretary role and become Managing Director/Financial Director with added full responsibility for manufacturing and operations. Jim Bennett will become Global Sales and Marketing Director adding the USA and OEM sales to his existing UK and European sales and marketing responsibilities.
Both Darren and Jim have been integral parts of the growth and success of Smith’s over two decades and the achievement of Smith’s reputation for excellent product quality and customer service. Their appointments will not only capitalise on their individual skills and experience, but will also provide the in-depth knowledge and continuity necessary to maintain and drive forward that success in future years.
