Smith’s and Thermador recognise there is a significant opportunity to change the way people heat their kitchens in France. Space is always at a premium in kitchens and traditional heat emitters, such as radiators, take up valuable wall space. With the Smith’s Space Saver, which is located in the plinth under the kitchen cupboards, space is released for more cupboards or workspace.
“Both companies have similar strong human values and see the potential to jointly develop the French domestic kitchen plinth heater market,” states Gary Haynes, Managing Director, Smith’s Environmental Products Ltd.
Smith’s has been developing and selling the market-leading Space Saver range of heaters for over 26 years. In the past two years Smith’s has embarked on a more focused and comprehensive export strategy for Europe. It has achieved significant success in other European markets so “it made a lot of sense to develop long term commercial relationship in France, our closest market geographically”.
Mr. Haynes continues “In the short time we have been working with Yves Ruget, President and CEO of Thermador and his team, it was very clear we have so many shared values and experiences, the opportunity to develop the Smith’s plinth heater range under the exclusivity of the Thermador brand in France has the potential to be an outstanding and inspirational long term success”.
