The Client
St John Chrysostom Church is an Anglican Church seeking to serve its inner city parish in Everton, part of the Diocese of Liverpool.
The Challenge
The church’s previous fan convectors were installed in the late 1970s. Almost forty years on, only one of the eight heat emitters was actually working. The boiler had also been condemned and a new condensing boiler installed. The contractor decided to install Smith’s fan convectors at the church, for the first time.
The Solution
The contractor, Colin Wakefield of Wakefield & Wilson, Garston, Liverpool, installed eight Smith’s Caspians and paired them with the new condensing boiler. The contractor had six Caspian Low and two Caspian High heaters. The church is now warm and the church doesn’t have to turn the heating on the day before to make sure the building is warm enough. The contractor has also been impressed with Smith’s products, quality and delivery and has used Caspians in four other churches in the Merseyside area.
The Products
St John Chrysostom had six Caspian Low Levels 120/12 output and two Caspian High Levels 120/12 output. The low surface temperature (LST) surface of the Caspian also lends itself to a venue where a wide range of ages regularly come through the doors. Caspian fan convectors are compatible with all types of wet central heating systems. Whether connected to a conventional boiler or renewable technology, such as ground and air source heat pumps, they function equally efficiently. As with all Smith’s products, Caspian fan convectors come with a free five-year warranty for parts and labour.
