Following the achievement of the ISO 9001 2015 in late 2017 with no non-conformities Smith’s has now been awarded the prestigious ISO 14001 accreditation. Where the ISO 9001 accreditation is concerned with quality the ISO 14001 is concerned with setting an environmental framework for the company to work within. This means that Smith’s have management processes and systems to ensure that they manufacture products that meet the customer and regulatory requirements and are working within designated environmental parameters.
Both accreditations are internationally recognised and demonstrate that Smith’s are a responsible and forward thinking organisation committed to achieving and maintaining the highest organisational standards.
Gary Haynes, Managing Director of Smith’s says “I am especially pleased with the work the Smith’s team have done to achieve these two internationally recognised accreditations. Over the past two years we have done a huge amount of work to improve efficiency and quality and now we have a recognised framework to work to for environmental performance. These accreditations, along with the Achilles Building Confidence Scheme, demonstrate our commitment and professionalism and that Smith’s are committed tomeeting the standards required of responsible manufacturing companies.”
